Easy short Crust Pastry

Let's get playing in the kitchen using store cupboard essentials.

A little bit of pastry goes a long way.


250g plain flour

125g chilled unsalted butter, coarsely chopped

Pinch of salt

2 tablespoons cold water

Put small bits of cold butter/marg in a bowl

Put all the flour in the bowl

With a knife cut through the mix or

Rub mix together with clean dry fingertips until it looks like breadcrumbs.

Add cold water a bit at a time and squish together until all comes together. X

You can roll it out and put it in tins or flan dishes.

Cut up and fill and make a slice or a pasty.
